Do you offer separate products for each vertical, or is it one platform?

One platform, three vertical overlays. The core identity and authentication engine is common across all deployments — the same zero-trust architecture, the same open-source components, the same hardware key management. What differs per vertical is the compliance overlay: the specific regulatory controls, audit log configurations, consent workflows, and integration adapters required by each sector. This means organisations operating across multiple verticals — for example a government agency that also manages healthcare services — can run a single platform with multiple overlays active simultaneously.

Can the platform be deployed in countries outside Japan?

Yes. While JSS has deep expertise in Japan’s regulatory environment, the platform architecture is jurisdiction-agnostic. Compliance overlays can be developed for any regulatory framework. JSS works with in-market operating partners in each jurisdiction who provide local regulatory expertise and infrastructure, allowing the platform to be deployed and operated in full compliance with local requirements.

How long does deployment typically take?

Deployment timelines vary by vertical and integration complexity. Municipal public sector deployments are typically the fastest — a site that has already completed a proof of concept can go live within weeks. Healthcare and financial services deployments involve more complex integration work and compliance configuration, with typical timelines of two to four months from contract execution to go-live. JSS provides a detailed implementation schedule during the scoping phase.

What does the onboarding process look like?

JSS onboarding covers five phases: integration scoping, infrastructure setup, compliance overlay activation, system integration and testing, and go-live acceptance. Following go-live, JSS provides 60 days of hypercare support with direct access to the implementation engineering team. Full operational handover to the in-market operating partner follows hypercare.

How do you handle regulatory changes after deployment?

JSS monitors regulatory developments across all active jurisdictions on an ongoing basis. The layered compliance engine is designed to absorb regulatory amendments as overlay updates without requiring changes to the core platform. JSS contractually reserves a 90-day implementation lead time for regulatory changes, ensuring that compliance obligations are met without disrupting live operations.
